From 1975 to 1989, a plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee turned out a material called Fogbank. It goes inside the W76, the warhead on Trident missiles. The recipe is classified, so all anyone outside will say is that it's probably an aerogel the fusion stage is believed to need.
In 1993 they shut the plant down. In 2000 the Energy Department started refurbishing the W76s and went to make a fresh batch.
Nobody could. The people who'd made it were retired. Hardly any process records had been kept. The United States had forgotten how to build part of its own nuclear weapon.
So engineers spent years reverse-engineering it and kept failing. Theirs came out purer than the original, and it didn't work.

Turns out the old process left an impurity behind, a later step quietly depended on it, and nobody wrote it down because nobody knew it mattered. $69 million over budget and a year late to relearn one detail that lived in a few retired people's hands.
None of that was a password problem. The government had the building and the budget. What it lost was the connective tissue: which step leaned on which, and why.
Now shrink that down to a one-person internet business. Stripe takes the money, AWS runs the product, GitHub holds the code, a password manager holds the logins. Your spouse can open the vault. Then what? Can the ad spend get paused without wrecking attribution? Nobody on earth knows that stuff but you.

Today's idea sells that layer. A Founder Continuity Kit: an inventory of every system and its backup admin, a red-yellow-green access matrix, a 72-hour runbook, an attorney-reviewed legal handoff, and a ninety-minute drill where someone you trust actually runs the company. $199 self-serve, $599 with guided setup, $149 a year to re-score the whole damn thing as it drifts. About four million U.S. solo businesses clear six figures. Nearly none have this. 750 kits and 250 setups is roughly $299K in year one, no engineers.
One more number, then we'll let you go: businesses that run without the owner get valued at around 4.5x profit. When the owner is the hub, 2.9x.

Nearly four million U.S. solo businesses clear six figures with zero operational redundancy. A $199 to $599 continuity kit turns founder dependency into recurring revenue and exit readiness.
