These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Startup Heist (the “Service”), including our website, member areas, newsletters, and related content.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy & Data Protection notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1) Who we are
“Startup Heist,” “we,” “us” refers to the operator of the Service.
2) Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
3) Accounts and security
- You may need an account to access members-only features.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
4) Subscriptions, billing, and renewals
Paid memberships
- Some parts of the Service are paid. Pricing and plan details are shown at checkout.
- Paid memberships typically auto-renew (e.g., monthly or annually) unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Payments
- Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- You authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge your payment method for recurring fees, applicable taxes, and any plan changes you request.
Cancellation
- You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period unless stated otherwise at checkout.
- After cancellation, you may lose access to members-only features when your billing period ends.
Refunds
- Unless required by law or explicitly stated at checkout, fees are non-refundable and we do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods.
- If you believe you were charged in error, contact hello@startupheist.com with your account email and relevant invoice details.
Price changes
- We may change pricing or plan features from time to time. If you are on a recurring plan, we will provide notice where required. Changes generally apply at your next renewal.
Chargebacks and disputes
- If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting us to resolve an issue, we may suspend or terminate your account access.
5) Service emails and deliverability
By using the Service, you agree that we may send:
- Service emails (billing receipts, account notices, security/authentication)
- Newsletter emails (Briefings and members-only sends)
Email deliverability can be affected by factors outside our control (email providers, spam filters, your inbox settings). We do not guarantee that every email will be delivered or land in the primary inbox.
6) Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate any law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest content or member data at scale (except as permitted by law)
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by introducing malware
- Circumvent paywalls or access controls
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
7) Intellectual property
Our content
- The Service and its content (including text, newsletters, templates, and design elements) are owned by Startup Heist or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Limited license
- We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own personal or internal business use.
No redistribution
- Unless we expressly allow it, you may not reproduce, republish, sell, sublicense, or broadly distribute members-only content.
8) User submissions (tips, leads, messages)
If you submit ideas, tips, links, or other material (including via research@startupheist.com):
- You represent you have the right to share it.
- You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display it as part of our editorial and product operations.
- We may edit, summarize, or decline to publish submissions.
Please do not send sensitive personal information (e.g., government IDs, medical data) in submissions.
9) Third-party links and services
The Service may link to third-party sites or tools. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms.
10) Educational content; no professional advice
Startup Heist provides informational and educational content about business ideas, tools, and market signals.
Nothing on the Service is investment, financial, legal, tax, or other professional advice, and you should consult qualified professionals before making decisions.
11) Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
12) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Startup Heist will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or $100 if you have not paid us).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these limits may not apply to you.
13) Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Startup Heist and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms.
14) Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if:
- You violate these Terms
- We must do so to comply with law
- Your use creates risk or harm to the Service or others
You may stop using the Service at any time.
15) Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service and these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice.
Your continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
16) Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Startup Heist is primarily operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you agree to bring claims in the courts located in that state, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

18) Miscellaneous
- If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
